Malhar looks to reinvent itself every year and this year is no different. With events ranging from the ever-popular street dance to strange quizzes about things not real, this year’s festival promises to leave your time-management in a mess. So grab your seat on the Malhar Local because this is going to be one hell of a ride!
While the rest of the world awaits the impending Apocalypse in 2012, Malhar Local celebrates everything that makes us who we are. Join us on a journey reminiscent of Mumbai. In keeping with the vision for Malhar 2012, we plan to incorporate this new feature in order to give a new dimension to the already existing scoring system, making it more compatible with the spirit of the festival. On the FINAL DAYS of Malhar, the score sheets will be kept on display for an HOUR after the completion of each event.

Have you ever envisioned yourself in front of crowds of people singing your heart out? Where all you can feel is the rhythmic vibe of musical instruments and the universal pulse of the crowd staring back at you? Here’s your chance! Malhar 2012 gives you the opportunity to do just that as we invite amateur musicians and dancers to perform in any style, be it in a band, solo, duet, Acapella or contemporary, folk and classical dance. All you have to do is survive the judges’ buzzer for one minute and you could be on your way to superstardom.

We at Malhar believe in the preservation of the environment. At ChakaChak, participants ensure that the sun-kissed beaches of Mumbai stay clean and pristine. This is a contingent oriented event for which each participating team will get points. For Chakachak, our aim is not only to collect garbage and clean up our beaches, but also to segregate the collected waste, indirectly creating awareness about recyclable and non recyclable wastes.
Familiarizing you with unfamiliar truths and breaking down established myths, engaging you into taking sides in hard-fought battles of logic and reason, Conclave is back. With something to suit everyone’s palate, you could either be a spectator or a participant and you’d enjoy it just the same.
